Centre College invites applications for the position of Director of Champions Hall. Under the direction of the Assistant AD for Facilities and Operations, the Director of Champions Hall will oversee all facets of the new facilities constructed under the Initiative for Wellness and Athletics Excellence (IWAE). This includes scheduling, hosting of events, maintenance, marketing, strategic planning, compliance in areas of insurance and liability, and other related matters.

Essential Job Functions (IWAE):

• Provide administrative oversight of scheduling and operational support for internal and external groups/events involving the IWAE facilities;
• Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the IWAE which include scheduling the hours of operations and coordinating facility scheduling for team practices, recreation, clubs, internal/external groups and events within the IWAE;
• Assist in the hosting of Centre Athletics, SAA, and NCAA events and championships, as well as other club and interscholastic events and championships;

• Maintain current knowledge of rules and regulations related to facility management/ operations;
• Assist as needed in the management and operational aspects of other Centre College athletic facilities;
• Oversee an extensive scheduling system for all Centre Athletics venues;
• Oversight of the Director of Aquatics to ensure the 50-meter natatorium stays in good operating condition;
• Serving as point of contact, responsible for the coordinating external events from contract to production; Receive and prioritize requests for external rentals, conduct facility walk-throughs, meetings and timely communication throughout process;
• Actively promote the IWAE availability to appropriate groups through appropriate channels;
• Track annual visitors, as well as other defined metrics, involving the IWAE;
• Serve as the security liaison from the athletic department with direct responsibility for the IWAE;
• Interface with Facilities Management/custodial staff to insure proper cleaning /maintenance of IWAE;
• Make recommendations for equipment and facility upgrades to the Assistant Athletic Director for Facilities and Operations;
• Hire, train and supervise student employees to assist with general operations of the IWAE;
• Monitor patrons for proper and safe use of the facilities;
• Prepare for and assist with special events such as tournaments, clinics, and general use of facilities;
• Assist in the facilitation of summer camps and clinics;

• Engaging and interacting with a diverse group of alumni, parents and friends of the College;

• Demonstrates an appreciation of and commitment to further an inclusive culture for those of diverse backgrounds such as ability, age, class, ethnicity, faith background, gender expression, gender identity, geographic region, national origin, neurodiversity, race, and sexual orientation that comprise individual and group expressions of identity.

• Other duties as assigned by the Assistant Athletic Director for Facilities and Operations, the Deputy AD, and the Director of Athletics;

Marginal Job Functions:

• Contribute to the overall success of the department by performing all other essential duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree required. Previous experience in higher education required. Previous experience in scheduling high demand spaces, as well as with working with a competitive aquatics center is a plus. Experience with pool maintenance and meet management preferred. Experience with Division III athletics desired. High integrity and ethical standards are required, along with enthusiasm for the mission of Centre College and Centre College Athletics.

Expert communication skills, both written and verbal, are required. Teamwork oriented attitude and a desire to work in a fast-paced, highly successful Division III athletic department a must. Knowledge of NCAA and SAA rules and regulations. Additional qualifications include being self-motivated, visionary, positive, energetic, eager to teach, and the ability to foster a team environment is needed.

Certifications required: Adult First Aid, CPE/AED Certification required or to be obtained within first 3 months of employment. The ability to earn certified pool operator (CPO) license in first year.

Physical Requirements:

Limited pushing, pulling, lifting. Lifting could exceed 75 lbs. Mobility on campus is required. Work may include frequent varied weather conditions; Occasional exposure to crisis situations; some pushing and pulling of sports equipment; some lifting and carrying up to 30 pounds; some
