Description

Albion College invites applications for the Director of Esports position. The Director of Esports responsibilities encompass all aspects of coaching Albion College’s Esports team.  This includes (but not limited to) scheduling, conditioning, technique training and mental preparation.  In addition, the position also works closely with Admissions in recruiting high school students as well as Institutional Advancement on pursuing sponsorship opportunities within the esports business world.  This position will also have other duties assigned by the Director of Athletics that may include game management, student-athlete welfare, or other functions necessary to ensure the management of a successful athletic department. This position will provide input on the design of the Esports facility and selection of equipment, as well as maintenance of facility and equipment. Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize, and organize a diversified workload with sensitivity and confidentiality. Must exhibit an appreciation of, a sensitivity to, and respect for a diverse environment, inclusive of students, faculty and staff of many social, economic, cultural, ideological, racial and ethnic backgrounds.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.  Master’s degree preferred
• At least one year competitive eSports experience involving multiplayer online video games with team-based elements and expert knowledge of League of Legends or similar games
• Coaching or teaching experience preferred
• Experience recruiting high school or college students preferred
