 This Work Study position supports the operations of the Alumni and Employer Engagement/ Athletic Fund Raising.

Work Study Responsibilities:

·         Participate in projects that support alumni engagement initiatives, including research and planning for programs and events; including athletic fund raising activities

·         Administrative, customer service, and office support including staffing the reception desk, answering phones, and responding to emails.

·         Interact with alumni in a courteous, professional, and welcoming manner, in person, on the phone, and by email.

·         Create content for social media and alumni outreach initiatives.

·         Serve as support staff at alumni and career events, including homecoming, commencement, reunions, job fairs, and other in-person and virtual events.

·         Responsible for maintaining and organizing inventory of alumni giveaway items, display items, tents and event setup materials, and historical archive materials.

·         Maintain confidentiality of information, records, communications, and conversations.

·         Perform other responsibilities as assigned by supervisors.

Training, Skills, Knowledge, Experience:

             ·         Basic skills with Microsoft Word and Excel.

             ·         Strong oral and written communication skills.

             ·         Attention to detail.

             ·         Consistently reliable, on time for work, and eager to learn.

             ·         Prior experience working in an office setting preferred (but not required).

Working Conditions:**              **

• Must be able to work in-person at the LIU Post campus during some weekday business hours.
• Schedule will consist of 10-15 hours per week, spread over at least 2 weekdays (based around your class schedule).
• Must be able to occasionally work evening or weekend hours for special events (as permitted by your class schedule).
