Job Description Summary

Saint Leo University, an NCAA Division II institution and member of the Sunshine State Conference, invites applications for the current position of Head Acrobatics and Tumbling Coach. Preference will be given to those candidates who can demonstrate a vision in the recruitment of student-athletes that fits well with the institution’s mission and core values.

Job Description

Duties and Tasks:

The successful candidate for this graduate assistant position will assist with oversight all aspects of a collegiate acrobatics and tumbling program, including, but not limited to, recruiting qualified student-athletes, monitoring academic progress toward degree, budgeting, scheduling, competition and practice preparation, individual and program development, facility management, fundraising, and community activity. The incumbent must fulfill these duties while adhering to all rules, guidelines, and principles as set forth by NCATA, the NCAA, Sunshine State Conference and Saint Leo University.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Knowledge:

  • At least one year of experience in acrobatics and tumbling OR one or more disciplines of gymnastics and/or competitive cheer, preferably at the collegiate level.
  • Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university preferred
  • Some experience coaching high school or college cheer or spirit team preferred
