Roles and Responsibilities:
The Graduate Assistant Baseball Coach reports to the Head Baseball Coach in the coordination of day-to-day aspects of the program (practice and game preparation, recruiting, fundraising, camps, community involvement, and other duties as assigned).
Serve as the (position specific, determined by head coach), under the direction of the head coach.
Monitoring of student-athletes' academic performance and athletic eligibility.
Recruiting students to meet enrollment goals as determined annually by administration.
Assist in the organization and planning of practice.
Game day preparation, management, and statistics.
Assist with field maintenance, coordination of fundraisers, equipment inventory, team travel, and meal accommodations.
Maintaining appropriate and positive professional media relations.
Responsible for knowing and complying with all rules & regulation of the NAIA and North Star Athletic Association.
Required to work Dickinson State University baseball camps and clinics if offered (additional compensation may be paid for working these camps provided the amount is reasonable and proceeds from the camp are sufficient to cover expenses of the camp including the portion of camp proceeds payable to the college under the college's athletic camps policy)
Assuming other duties as assigned by the College and/or Athletic Director and Head Coach.
Work Hours/Pay Rate:
Graduate Assistants will work at least 10 hours each week but not more than 20 while classes are in session, and no more than 40 when classes are not in session.
A stipend of approximately $7,500 will be paid over the duration of the assistantship, usually fall and spring semester (ranging approximately from August 1 to May 31). This may be pro-rated.
