This position promotes and supports the learning experience of Marian University students by, assisting the Head Baseball Coach and Assistant Baseball Coach in developing, implementing, and maintaining an educational and successful baseball program, as well as assist in all areas of Residence Life. This position will maintain compliance of Marian University, Northern Athletics Conference, Northern Collegiate Hockey Association, and NCAA rules and regulations. This position will serve for two consecutive years under a twelve-month term of appointment.

This position promotes and supports the learning experience of Marian University students by, assisting the Head Baseball Coach and Assistant Baseball Coach in developing, implementing, and maintaining an educational and successful baseball program, as well as assist in all areas of Residence Life. This position will maintain compliance of Marian University, Northern Athletics Conference, Northern Collegiate Hockey Association, and NCAA rules and regulations. This position will serve for two consecutive years under a twelve-month term of appointment.
This position is considered part-time and will work less than 30 hours/week.
Essential Functions:
Athletic Responsibilities:
In cooperation with the Head Baseball Coach and Assistant Baseball Coach, the Graduate Assistant Baseball Coach will assist in developing and maintaining a system to identify prospective student-athletes and to work closely with area club and high school coaches to recruit quality student-athletes;
Assist in retaining current student-athletes;
Assist with all practice and game day responsibilities
Assist with any Marian University Baseball Camps
Adhere to all Department, University, Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference, and NCAA rules and regulations
Other athletic department duties as assigned
Residence Life Responsibilities:
Cultivate a positive and engaging living environment that enables students to build relationships and to foster a sense of belonging
Maintain high visibility and availability, including attending community events, and regularly touring the community and interacting with residents
Know the residents order to provide personal, social, academic, and occupational support and referral
Co Supervise and train up to 9 resident assistants (RA) in conjunction with a full-time Resident Director
Co Host weekly staff meetings to communicate upcoming events, discuss community concerns, and facilitate professional development experiences related to the goals of Residence Life
Conduct bi-weekly one-on-one meetings with RAs when RHD is not available
Ensure RAs are appropriately confronting and documenting behavioral issues and concerns
Provide regular formal and information feedback regarding job performance
Ensure that RA duty procedures are followed
Oversee implementation of programs and strategies that enable student achievement of learning
Report, track, and follow up on maintenance issues
Administer student check-in, check-out, and room changes; assist with room condition and damage billing processes
Participate in departmental and divisional professional development activities
Participate in the recruitment, selection, and training of staff members for the Office of Residence Life
Other Responsibilities – 5%
Performs other work related duties as assigned
Education, Experience, and Skills Required:
Acceptance into a Marian University Master’s degree program.
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field required. Previous collegiate or junior level playing required.
Candidate must demonstrate knowledge of NCAA Division III philosophy, recruitment, rules and regulations.
Candidate must demonstrate great organizational skills in addition to writing and typing skills, interpersonal skills, and superior leadership skills.
Must have willingness to work nights and weekends.
Strong oral and written communication skills and organizational skills.
Valid driver’s license is required and register as a University driver.
