Graduate Assistant - Bowling
University of Pikeville (UPIKE), the Leading University in Central Appalachia is actively seeking candidates
for a Graduate Assistant Coach for our bowling program. This position will report to the Director of
Bowling and the Head Coaches for both the men’s and women’s teams.

• Daily office work.
• Assist coaches with practices.
• Provides safety for the students, coaches, facilities and equipment while conducting practices,
activities, competitions.
• Help to prepare agendas for travel.

• Help to prepare agendas for travel.
• Assist with budget management.
• Understanding the expectations of the bowling teams.
• Regularly attends and participates in department meetings.
• Collaborates with campus constituents to access, provide and improve student experience
related to bowling.
• Understands NAIA, MSC, and USBC eligibility rules.
• Driving University owned or rented vans.
• Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
• Must have a minimum of Bachelor’s degree and be accepted into graduate program at UPIKE.
• Must have experience in collegiate bowling.
• Must be willing to work under challenging conditions.
• Must be willing to work late/flexible hours.
• Must have excellent English communication skills, both written and oral.
• Demonstrate sensitivity to students with diverse academic, socio-economic, cultural and ethnic
backgrounds, including those with disabilities.
• Understand how to work successfully as a team within all levels of the organization and know
how to contribute to the mission of the university.
• Optional experience of drilling bowling balls and/or other pro shop duties.
*Graduate Assistants receive tuition waivers of up to 6 hours of classes per semester, a monthly stipend,
housing & a meal plan. The meal plan covers the actual number of weeks that classes are in session
during the fall and spring semesters.
