Job Description

The University of Mary Hardin Baylor, a private Christian university affiliated with the Baptist General Convention of Texas, seeks qualified Graduate Assistants for its DIII Football Program, beginning July 14, 2025 through June 1, 2026.

UMHB is conveniently located in Belton, an historic town of 22,000 in the heart of central Texas. Nearby cities are Temple (5 miles), Waco (45 miles), Austin (65 miles), San Antonio (130 miles) and Dallas/Ft. Worth (130 miles).

JOB DUTIES: The Graduate Assistant will assist the defensive coordinator and other coaching staff with pre-practice preparation, film breakdown of opponents for position meetings; and other related coaching support duties, as assigned. Selected candidates who also desire to gain coaching experience on the field during practice and in competition will be offered volunteer coaching opportunities.

The selected candidate must obtain acceptance to a UMHB Graduate program and be registered for classes prior to the first day of hire for this position. Graduate Assistant scholarships are available for these positions.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
1. A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is required.
2. Playing experience at the college level is preferred.
3. Playing or coaching experience as a defensive back or linebacker is required.
4. Knowledge of NCAA, ASC, and UMHB rules and regulations is preferred.
5. Basic computer competency and general office equipment operation is required.
6. Must demonstrate sincere interest in a football coaching career.
7. Must be available for a flexible work schedule, including assigned weekend and evening hours.
