Position Summary

To assist the Head/Assistant Men’s Soccer Coach in all facets of the program with the emphasis on leading and coaching the reserve team.
Adhere to NCAA Division II rules and regulations. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Head Coach.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

• Assists the head/assistant coach to coach and operate the first team and reserve team at practices, games, and administrative tasks Goalkeeping preferred.
• Assists in the coordination of travel arrangements and meals for road trips.
• All aspects of recruiting.
• Practice setup/teardown and execution
• Game day operation and tasks
• Filming/making video clips as needed
• Camps
• Laundry
• Social Media
• Assists in completion and processing of paperwork as requested.
• Works cooperatively with personnel in the athletic department, attends department meetings and activities if needed, and always represents the University in a positive manner when interacting with the community, alumni, coaches, the media and the general public.
• Responsible for abiding by NCAA II compliance rules and legislation as well as educating student-athletes about those rules.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Head/Assistant Coach and/or the Vice President/Director of Athletics.
• Failure to comply by NCAA II rules will be grounds for discipline and/or termination.
• Other duties as assigned or required.

Required Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

Must understand and support the Mission, Vision and Code of Ethical Conduct of Walsh University, as a Catholic higher education university as expressed in Ex Corde Ecclesiae, and possess the following:

Education:

Bachelor’s degree required as well as acceptance into a Walsh University Graduate Program.

Work Experience:

At least 3 years’ experience in the sport of Men’s Soccerl, including playing and/or coaching. Other significant experience relative to coaching and/or the administration of an intercollegiate athletics program can be considered.

Skills and abilities:

• Professional demeanor and ability to interact with charity towards students, staff and faculty. Positive attitude a must.
