Position Summary: This position is responsible for assisting in the operations of home athletic events and for supervision of the Benedictine Physical Education Center located at 7460 E. Texas Ave. Mesa, Arizona 85212.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
1. Management of physical education center building. Including supervision or gymnasium, weight room, locker room, athletic training room. This includes nights and weekend hours. Opening and closing procedures of the building. General maintenance of the PEC building.
2. On-site supervision of event management of home athletics events. Coordinate home athletic events by facilitating student worker staff.
3. Other duties as assigned by Athletics Staff .
Other Functions:
1. Develop relationships within Benedictine University and the University community.
2. Attend departmental and University related meetings and events.
3. Maintain a positive student athlete assessment for program from student athletes.
4. Work in coordination with University offices and departments to coordinate and facilitate University events.
5. Maintain positive relationships with alumni, parents, students, officials, volunteers and fans.
6. Serve on University, conference and national committees as needed.
7. Positively promote Benedictine University and the Department of Athletics on campus and in the community.
Required Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's Degree Required. Must be enrolled as a Benedictine student in good standing.
Experience: Coaching or playing experience and extensive knowledge of the sport at the collegiate level preferred.
Qualifications: Applicant must be accepted into the Benedictine University graduate program and remain in good standing with the University.
Specific Skills: Organizational skills, writing and typing skills, interpersonal skills, data entry and budget management skills and demonstrated supervisory skills.
Specific Knowledge, Licenses, Certifications: Yes, valid driver’s license, and CPR/First Aid/ AED certification within the first 90-days of being hired.
Physical Requirements: May be required to lift up to 50 lbs. Must reach, bend, stoop, lift. Must sit, walk or stand for long periods of time. Ability to handle varying levels of stress while maintaining professional demeanor. Possible lifting, bending, walking, kneeling, stretching, and stooping. Frequent districtwide and statewide travel; frequent prolonged and irregular hours; outdoor exposure to sun/heat or cold weather.
Ability to speak clearly so listeners can understand. Understand the speech of another person.
