Cumberland University is looking to hire one (1) Graduate Assistant - Sports Performance Coach

ANTICIPATED START DATE:

• Fall 2025 - July 21-28 preferred (can be flexible)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design and implementation of training programs for Baseball, Softball, Track, and other assigned sports
• Assisting with training for Football
• Cleaning and maintenance of weight room and equipment
• Other duties as assigned
• 2-year Commitment

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree in a related field
• Must gain acceptance into either the Sports Management or Sport and Exercise Science graduate program at Cumberland University (GRE test scores required).Â
• Previous Collegiate Sports Performance Coaching experience (internships)
• Must possess or working towards a Strength & Conditioning certification (CSCS) and CPR/First Aid certification
• Must have a 3.0 or above overall GPA

DESIRED SKILLS:

• USAW Certification - Experience coaching the Olympic lifts
• Experience with Football, Baseball, Soccer, and/or Women’s sports preferred
• Collegiate athletic experience a plus
• Military service a plus
• Experience using the Teambuildr Training platform a plus
• Strong interpersonal communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and work ethic
• Excellent Organizational skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Record keeping and reporting skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
• Basic data analysis skills preferred
