Essential Strength and Conditioning Responsibilities:

Â

• Assist in the design, implement and oversee strength and conditioning for assigned athletic teams.
• Assist in coordinating schedules for assigned athletic teams' strength and conditioning sessions.
• Assist with maintenance of the weight room.
• Ensure proper use and maintenance of equipment.
• Make recommendations to the Strength and Conditioning staff for departmental improvement.
• Demonstrate various exercise techniques.

Essential Department of Athletics Responsibilities:

Â

• Serve as a member of the Events Operations Team, attending regular weekly meetings
• Assist the Events Operations Team in setup, staffing, breakdown, and logistics of intercollegiate competitions and events.
• Assist the Events Operations Team in coordinating and maintaining its transportation fleet.
• Serve as a member of the Inclement Weather and Emergency Closure On-Call Team responsible for providing on-campus support for residential students during campus closure.
• Serve as point of contact for residential student-athletes during the evenings and weekends.
• Participate in Athletic Department staff meetings, functions and other duties as assigned by the Athletics Administration.

Supervisory Responsibility:

• This will provide support and supervision to undergraduate work-study students.

Qualifications

Required Skills & Experience:

Â

• Bachelor’s degree required, admission to one of Regis' College's graduate programs.
• Have a general knowledge of exercise principles as they relate to strength & conditioning.
• Have a general knowledge of spotting and lifting techniques.
• Prior experience in a collegiate and/or high school Athletics environment preferred.
• Strong organizational skills required.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, computer literacy and strong interpersonal skills to work with various college constituencies.
• The ability to work a flexible and irregular schedule.
• Works well as a team member or independently.
• Excels in prioritizing multiple tasks with attention to detail, problem solving and follow-through to consistently meet expectations and deadlines.
• Appropriate certifications in First Aid / CPR and AED are required within an appropriate time of hire and must be completed (per NCAA regulations) before the beginning of the competitive season.
• Must hold a valid driver’s license.
• Ability to work with students and diverse constituencies.
• A positive attitude and an understanding of the importance of being open-minded and flexible.

Salary & Benefits:

Â

• $4,000 stipend (10-month).
• Free room and full meal plan during the 10-month duration.

• Tuition remission for two (2) eligible Regis graduate courses/semester, with a maximum of six graduate courses (18 credits) per academic year.

  • The following campus-based programs are eligible for tuition remission:
  • 60 credits of MA in Counseling (24 credits are not covered by tuition remission. The supervised field experience must be completed after the graduate intern role is complete.)
  • 33 credits of MS in Regulatory and Clinical Research Management.
  • 30 credits of MS in Digital Marketing and Communications.
  • The following fully online programs qualify for tuition remission on a space-available basis:
  • 33 credits of MS in Health Administration.
  • 42 credits of Master of Public Health (6 credits are not covered by tuition remission.
  • 30 credits of Master of Social Work.
  • Courses in Graduate Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Applied Behavioral Analysis, Speech Language Pathology, and Doctor of Education programs are not eligible for tuition remission.Â

NOTE: This is a 10-month position, with the opportunity to continue the position for one additional 10-month term (2 academic year maximum).

Working Conditions/Physical Demands:

• This position will require the ability to lift nearly 50 lbs. regularly.Â
• This position could require early morning hours beginning at 7:00am; nights and weekends may be expected.
