The University of Pikeville (UPIKE), the Leading University in Central Appalachia is actively seeking candidates forthe Head ArcheryCoach to manage and oversee all aspects of the archery program by performing the following responsibilities:

Responsibilities:

1. Recruit and retain student athletes.
2. Conduct and plan all practices and matches for the archery team.
3. Schedule all competitive events.
4. Manage skill development and conditioning.
5. Manage and maintain archery equipment and uniforms.
6. Manage and maintain archery facilities in accordance with university and department guidelines.
7. Fundraise to help supplement and support the team’s budgetary needs.
8. Monitor academic process of student athletes.
9. Monitor the conduct of student athletes within the archery program.
10. Uphold all University and departmental guidelines and bylaws and ensure that the student-athletes under your supervision do as well.
11. Oversee Assistant Coach, volunteers, and work study students.

8. Monitor academic process of student athletes.
9. Monitor the conduct of student athletes within the archery program.
10. Uphold all University and departmental guidelines and bylaws and ensure that the student-athletes under your supervision do as well.
11. Oversee Assistant Coach, volunteers, and work study students.
12. Manage budget, supplies, equipment, and inventory.
13. Follow purchasing and spending guidelines as set by the university and the Athletic Department.
14. Maintain receipts and reconcile department credit card monthly.
15. Organize travel, accommodations, and team meals.
16. Ensure the health and safety of athletes and staff.
17. Schedule events for team community service.
18. Other duties as assigned.

Relationships:

Position requires daily contact with athletes, parents, faculty, staff, student workers, coaches, and community members in order to exchange information. These relationships are maintained through e-mail, telephone, and person-to-person contact.

Education/Skill Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree required. Master’s Degree is preferred.
• Collegiate or high school archery coaching experience required.
• Ability to organize and manage a college archery team.
• Instructor certification preferred.
• Must maintain a valid driver’s license.
• Must be familiar with Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.
• Must be able to perform simple calculations.
• Must be familiar with ordering office supply and making travel arrangements online.
