Head Baseball Coach

Missouri Valley College seeks a dynamic leader to oversee all aspects of its baseball program.  The successful candidate will foster academic and athletic excellence, recruit and retain student-athletes, manage program operations, and cultivate a competitive and ethical team culture.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Plan, organize, and direct all activities of the varsity baseball program; Recruit and retain student-athletes who align with the academic and athletic standards of the college; Oversee practice planning, game strategy, skill development, and player evaluation; Ensure compliance with all institutional, conference, and NAIA rules and regulations; Promote student-athlete academic success and character development; Manage team travel, scheduling, and budget within departmental guidelines; Hire, supervise, and mentor assistant coaches.

Conduct fundraising and community outreach in coordination with the athletics department; Maintain positive relationships with alumni, donors, and campus partners; Coordinate and oversee routine and seasonal maintenance of the baseball field and related facilities to ensure safety, playability, and a professional appearance; and represent the college and the baseball program at NAIA and conference meetings.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution; Minimum of three years of successful baseball coaching experience, preferably at the collegiate level; Strong knowledge of NAIA rules and commitment to compliance; Proven ability to recruit and develop student-athletes; Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills; Commitment to fostering a positive team culture and promoting sportsmanship and integrity.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience managing a collegiate program budget and staff; Background in fundraising, alumni engagement, or community relations; Experience coaching or playing at the NAIA or NCAA level.
