The head men’s lacrosse coach is responsible for all facets of the lacrosse program. Because of the unique nature and 200 plus-year history of this program, this is a highly visible and important leadership position for the Colleges.
The head coach has responsibilities for the teaching and development of the student-athletes; the advising of team members; and the supervision and mentoring of the assistant coaches. The head coach is responsible for the development and implementation of an effective recruitment and retention plan. It is imperative that the program be in compliance with NCAA, HWS, and Atlantic 10 Conference regulations at all times and the head coach will make certain that the program is run in a fiscally responsible manner. Consistent with all Hobart head coaches, the head lacrosse coach will be a member and perhaps a leader of one of the department’s Administrative Teams. The vision is to provide a meaningful athletic experience while succeeding within the ultra-competitive Atlantic 10 Conference.

This is a full-time, 12-month, benefits-eligible, administrative salaried position. This position description is not all-inclusive as other tasks or responsibilities may be assigned. Annual salary range is $110,000 - $140,000.
Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree is preferred. Previous intercollegiate and administrative experience is required. The candidate should have proven organizational, administrative, and managerial skills with demonstrated public relations and fund-raising abilities. An overall knowledge of NCAA rules and procedures is required. Proven abilities in the organizational and instructional aspects of coaching. Demonstrated effectiveness in the recruitment of student athletes. Ability to work effectively with college students. A desire to work within the framework of all HWS departmental policies and requirements.
