Description

Keuka College is seeking a dedicated and experienced Head Coach for Men’s Basketball to lead and manage all aspects of the program. This includes recruiting and retaining student-athletes, ensuring academic and athletic eligibility, developing and executing practice and game plans, managing the program’s budget, scheduling competitions, and coordinating travel logistics. The Head Coach will supervise assistant coaches, foster alumni and community engagement, support fundraising initiatives, and promote the men’s basketball program within the college and broader community.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a positive team culture and ensuring student-athletes and staff represent Keuka College with integrity during all practices, contests, and trips. The Head Coach must uphold and ensure compliance with all Keuka College, conference, and NCAA rules and regulations.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Develop a competitive program consistent with the athletic department vision.
  • Develop an overall recruitment strategy. Meet or exceed annual recruitment goals established in collaboration with the Director of Athletics; maintain or exceed optimal roster size annually.
  • Monitor and support academic success and personal growth of each student-athlete towards retention and graduation.
  • Schedule and conduct regular practice sessions within both traditional and non-traditional seasons as permitted by NCAA and departmental rules and regulations.
  • Effectively teach individual skills, team concepts, and competitive values; plan and execute practice, conditioning, strength sessions, and game plans.
  • Schedule use of facilities for practice and competitions. Responsible for arranging a competitive, balanced schedule. Collaborate with office partners on campus including strength and conditioning, sports medicine, health and counseling, and other support services to ensure that student-athletes are well prepared for competition and their overall development and growth.
  • Ensure safety through careful monitoring of the condition of equipment and facilities utilized by the team. Responsible for submitting requests for repair, maintenance, and facility improvements as needed and in collaboration with department staff.
