The Head Coach will manage the daily operations of an NCAA Division III intercollegiate sport program competing in the University Athletic Association (“UAA”), with responsibilities including, but not limited to, the supervision of any assistant coaches and the planning, recruiting, coaching, developing, implementing, and administering of Men's soccer program to meet University and department objectives. Coach the team, including developing in team members the skills necessary for successful competition in the sport; recruiting, hiring, developing and overseeing a staff of assistant coaches, if any; devising and implementing strategy for practice and competition; defining team and individual goals; and demonstrating positive sportsmanship and leadership.
Coordinate the recruitment of prospective students to Washington University, requiring the identification of academically qualified prospective student athletes, ongoing communication with prospects, initiation of applications and matriculation of prospects.
Perform other duties as assigned by management of the department.

Working Conditions
Ability to travel to on and off campus games/meets, work alternative work schedules, including evenings and weekends.
The salary range for this position is $4,775 - $6,458 - $8,141 per month.
The successful candidate can choose to be paid over only those ten months or have their ten months of compensation spread across the full twelve months of the academic year.
Actual compensation offers will depend on candidate's experience and expertise.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree.
Experience teaching the game of sport, as either a coach or a teaching professional.
Recruiting experience.
Ability to recruit, coach and teach highly talented student-athletes.
Effective communicative and public relation skills.
Strong organizational and administrative skills.
Competent knowledge of sport specific techniques, skill development and game/meet planning.
An understanding of how to build and manage a team.
The ability to understand and articulate program needs.
Demonstrated competency in helping to meet program objectives, working independently, supervising others and helping to establish program priorities.
An ability to communicate with and interact positively with students, faculty, staff and the broader University community.
Knowledge in the operational use of computer and video technology.
The ability to develop a safe, functional and inclusive working environment.
An appreciation of and a willingness to adhere to the NCAA Division III philosophy, rules and regulations.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and three years of experience.
Previous experience playing sport at the collegiate and/or professional level.
An understanding of, and commitment to, the NCAA Division III philosophy.
REQUIRED LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION: Successful passage of Annual NCAA rules test; current CPR, AED and First Aid certifications.
