The Head Coach of Men's Tennis reports to the Director of Athletics and is responsible for all aspects of managing a Division III tennis program. The Head Coach must understand and promote the mission, goals, values and educational ideals of Brandeis University, as well as the mission of the Department of Athletics, Physical Education and Recreation. The Head Coach is responsible for abiding by all conference, NCAA and department regulations and policies and for developing an inclusive program in which students learn, play and compete.

Key responsibilities:

  • Directs the daily training and practice schedule to prepare student-athletes to compete in the sport of men’s tennis. Responsible for planning all in-season practice sessions. Directs all in-game coaching during home and away contests. Estimated time spent: 50%

  • Coordinates practice times and team travel details with the department’s administrative staff. Estimated time spent: 25%

  • Provides appropriate and necessary guidance and advice to men’s tennis student-athletes. Be familiar with the support services available at Brandeis University that can be utilized to assist students. Actively supports the academic integrity of the University, keeping academics at the highest priority for the student-athlete. Communicate with the sports performance (athletic training/strength and conditioning) staff regarding student-athlete well-being. Estimated time spent: 15%

  • Additional duties assigned by the Director of Athletics. Estimated time spent: 10%

Education & Work Experience:

  • B.A./B.S. required. M.A./M.S. preferred.

  • Minimum of 5 years of collegiate coaching experience required.
