SUMMARY** :**

Reporting to the Director of Athletics, the Head Softball Coach is responsible for the total organization, administration and supervision of the softball program. The coach is responsible for ensuring compliance with university, conference and NCAA policies and procedures.

Job Description

SUMMARY** :**

Reporting to the Director of Athletics, the Head Softball Coach is responsible for the total organization, administration and supervision of the softball program. The coach is responsible for ensuring compliance with university, conference and NCAA policies and procedures.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES** :**

• Recruit student-athletes.
• Plan and prepare for all practices and contests.
• Select, supervise and evaluate part-time coaches and student employees.
• Assist student-athletes in obtaining appropriate personal and academic advisement and athletic training as needed.
• Prepare budget recommendations for the softball program.
• Monitor equipment and facility needs, safety standards and inventory control.
• Organize and administer a comprehensive softball fundraising program and an alumni development plan.
• Serve as the primary site supervisor for assigned sport.
• Maintain appropriate records and files. Prepare correspondence in the course of official duties.
• Attend and participate in departmental, conference and university-wide meetings related to duties and responsibilities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Management retains the right to add or change job duties at any time.

QUALIFICATIONS :

REQUIRED** :**

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• A minimum of three years of professional experience coaching at the collegiate level.
• Successful head coaching experience.
• Experience as a college student athlete in the sport.
• Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations; particularly as they apply to recruiting and student athlete eligibility.

PREFERRED :

• Master’s degree from an accredited college or university.
