| Primary Duties and
Responsibilities: **|   Position purpose:** 
Under general supervision; directs positive leadership, manages and oversee all coaching and strategic aspects of the University’s NCAA Division 1 sports program in such a manner as to build and maintain a competitive, quality program that reflects positively on the image and reputation of the University at all times.

Essential Functions:  

1. Directs and coordinates all aspects of recruitment and training for athletic competition, and oversees the planning and fiscal management of program activities.

2. Organizes, prepares, and conducts individual and team practices, training and competition.

3. Oversees all recruiting activity for the program in accordance with NCAA rules and regulations.

4. Coordinates all strategic aspects of the specific sports program.  Directs all aspects, areas and components of the sports team. Manages all daily operations and coordinates all administration facets of the specific sports program.

5. Oversees all aspects of the financial operation of the specific sports program

6. Represents sports program to various institutional programs and externally to media, government agencies, funding agencies, students, parents, and the general public.

7. Complies with all NCAA, Conference, University, and Department of Athletics policies.

  deficiencies and providing instruction to improve overall skill and performance.

• Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments.

• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.

• Skilled in budget preparation and management.

| |   |   | | Required Education | Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred.
| |   |   | | Required Experience | 4-6 years required, 7-9 years preferred of directly related experience to the duties and responsibilities specified. The ideal candidate will have experience playing and/or coaching preferably at the NCAA Division 1 Level. |
