About The Position:
This 10-month position will be responsible for managing all aspects of a competitive NCAA Division DIII Women’s Lacrosse Program, including but not limited to; practice planning, recruiting, game day management, and scheduling. This position will assist the Director of Athletics and Recreation with the long-term planning and development of the Women’s Lacrosse program and an additional administrative area will also be assigned. The department of Athletics & Recreation subscribes to the philosophy that athletics complements the total education experience of our students. We allow multiple ways for students to compete or participate in a variety of quality athletic programs consistent with the overall educational mission of SUNY Plattsburgh. We are part of the Enrollment and Student Success division which supports a student’s entire collegiate experience from the point of admission through to graduation. We partner with students, faculty and staff to provide a network of opportunities and services that lead to student success. Collectively, the division of Enrollment and Student Success positively influences the health, safety and well-being of the student body. Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree at the time of appointment
- Coaching and/or lacrosse playing experience at the NCAA level
- Demonstrated understanding of NCAA Rules and Regulations
- Demonstrated skills in leadership, communication, organization, and relationship building
- CPR/AED certification will be required within one month of appointment
- A valid driver license at the time of appointment and the ability and willingness to drive fleet vehicles
- Willingness and ability to travel and perform evening and weekend work
- A demonstrated ability to work effectively with faculty, staff and administrators
Preferred Qualifications:
- Head or Assistant Collegiate Women’s Lacrosse coaching experience
- Recruiting experience
- Master’s degree
- SUNYAC coaching and/or playing experience
