Job Summary
Provide instruction, leadership and evaluation to varsity sport student-athletes. Organize and development of all aspects of varsity sport including scheduling, travel, student-athlete skill development, tactics and strategic game planning, game management, recruitment of student-athletes and facilitating an environment that promotes growth and well-being. Monitor academic status of student-athletes and foster an environment that promotes academic excellence. Commitment to serving the community and adherence to SU policies and NCAA rules and regulations at all times. Commitment to integrity, rules compliance, and promoting an outstanding student-athlete experience.
Authority and Accountability
This position will report directly to the Director of Athletics and Campus Recreation. This position will oversee a full-time contractual assistant coach or graduate assistant coach, stipend assistant coaches and/or volunteer assistant coaches. The Head Coach of Women’s Volleyball is responsible for recruitment and development of student-athletes.
Required/Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree, three years or more of experience in athletics and coaching of collegiate volleyball. Demonstration of comprehensive understanding of volleyball strategics, technique and skills. Strong knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills and budget experience required. Ability to identify and recruit talent to Salisbury University. Personnel management skills including personnel decisions, coordination, scheduling, delegation of duties, mentoring and supervision of student-athletes
Preferred Qualifications
Experience and ability to strategically assess and promote physical, mental and overall well-being of student-athletes. Innovative approach to coaching, promoting daily excellence. Experience with ARMS/Teamworks and Workday software.
