Reporting to the Athletic Department, the head coach of the Dance team is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the newly created varsity program, most importantly recruitment and retention of student-athletes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for management of all facets of the dance program
Recruit qualified student-athletes, maintaining a four-year roster of 40, through successful relationships with high schools, club programs, and junior colleges.
Oversight of choreography and directing dance performances.
Explain and demonstrate principles, techniques, and methods of regulating movement of body, hands, or feet to achieve proficiency in movement.
Organize and plan practice in preparation for performance at competition and on the sideline at men’s and women’s basketball games.
Coordinate publicity for spirit squad activities, working closely with the pep band and cheerleading to provide a first-class game experience.
Monitor academic progress of student-athletes

Monitor budget management and fundraising as needed.
Coordinate team travel
Job Requirements: Education, Experience and Skills:
Bachelor’s Degree required.
Successful collegiate coaching and/or collegiate playing experience desired.
Review of candidates will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled.
