Job Description

Hiram College is seeking applications for the position of Head Softball Coach. Hiram College is a private liberal arts institution located in northeast Ohio. The college is a member of the Presidents Athletic Conference and NCAA Division III.

Hiram College, established in 1850 as the Western Reserve Eclectic Institute, is a nationally respected private residential liberal arts college located 30 miles from Cleveland in the historic Western Reserve region of Ohio. At Hiram, close student-faculty interaction and innovation is routine. The College’s distinctive academic calendar, the Hiram Plan, offers students the opportunity each semester for a three-week intensive course, study abroad/away program, internship or research experience.

The Head Softball Coaches position is a 10-month position which reports to the Director of Athletics. The Head Softball Coach is responsible for: planning of all practices and with the organization, implementation of a successful recruiting, retention plan for the program, supervising student coaches and/or managers, supporting the strength and conditioning program, representing the program in accordance with department/college policies and procedures, and acting in accord with PAC, NCAA and institutional rules and regulations. The Head Softball Coach must oversee and manage the softball team budget. Fundraising will be necessary.

The Head Softball Coach will embrace the responsibility of building a program respected for its commitment to the mission and core values of Hiram College, while representing the program in accordance with PAC, NCAA and institutional rules and regulations. Additional duties may include administrative roles, campus committee involvement and other duties as assigned. These duties may be conducted outside of the traditional softball season. A Master’s Degree is preferred, while a Bachelor’s Degree is required
