Job Summary:
The Head Softball Coach and Assistant to the Athletic Director is a dual-role position responsible for Head Coach of the softball program while providing administrative support to the Athletics Department. As Head Coach, the role ensures compliance with NCAA and university policies, leads recruitment efforts, manages fundraising, etc. As Assistant to the Athletic Director, the position manages office communications, coordinates schedules and events, tracks budgets and purchase orders, and supports departmental operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Head Coach Softball
Ensure compliance with NCAA, Atlantic East Conference and university policies and procedures.
Meet recruiting goals as established by the Director of Athletics and Recreation
Achieve and maintain certification for CPR/AED and First Aid
Monitor team fundraising account.
Attend department staff meetings and university functions.
Represent university at conference meetings.
Develop and maintain alumni relations for the promotion of the program.
Represent the University and its athletics program, with honesty, integrity and sportsmanship always, to various institutional programs and students, parents and families, the public, alumni and external agencies.
Work with various departments and personnel at the university to aid in the development of a positive student-athlete experience.
Performs responsibilities as Game Manager as assigned.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Assistant to the Athletic Director
Serves as the first point of contact for the Director of Athletics; answering phone calls, inquiries, providing information and correspondence to parents, staff and students not requiring the supervisor's attention.
Organizes and maintains office files and documentation.
Prepares athletic correspondence, schedules, presentations, budget, minutes, calendar management, and handles travel and room arrangements.
Maintains and publishes accurate and up-to-date event calendars utilizing Mazevo.
Assists with tracking purchase orders, managing deposits, and tracking budgets for multiple athletic accounts.
Coordinates the completion of all athletic related services, including rosters, bus requests, and schedules, adjusting to daily changes in events.
Schedules meetings and events. Updates food services, room reservations, set-up, and equipment for events.
Manages special projects assigned by supervisor.
Create an environment that acknowledges, encourages, and celebrates differences.
Other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics and Recreation

Requirements:
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree, master's degree or equivalent related work experience.
1 - 3 years of coaching experience in an athletic department, preferably in a college/university setting.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to work with time sensitive projects, work in a fast-paced environment, multi-task and remain pleasant and professional.
Proficient in use of office software suites, Microsoft 365 with Office, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
Evening and weekend work is required.
