The Office of Athletics at Morehead State University is accepting applications for a full-time position as a Head Strength & Conditioning Coach. The anticipated start date is August 1, 2025.
Morehead State University is located in Morehead, KY, a designated Kentucky Trail Town, nestled in the Daniel Boone National Forest, in close proximity to Cave Run Lake. This location provides opportunities for a wide range of outdoor recreation activities. RESPONSIBILITIES: Under the supervision of the Director of Athletics, the incumbent will be responsible for developing and implementing strength, speed, and conditioning programs for all sports, except football. Incumbent will monitor Phil Simms and Sawyer Brown weight facilities, upkeep, inventory, and order equipment. Supervision of graduate assistants and work-study students will be required. The incumbent will interact and correspond with Head Coaches about the programs designed for their teams.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree. Two years of prior experience in strength and conditioning training for elite-level athletes. Knowledge of NCAA rules and compliance issues concerning the administration of intercollegiate athletics.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience with strength and conditioning training at the Division I level. NSCA certification.

Reports directly to Director of Athletics. Upline contact with Vice President for Student Life, and President. Interacts with other members of the athletic department staff, coaches, secretaries, student-athletes, athletic trainers, sports information staff and other faculty/staff members as well as general public.

In accordance with the principles of NCAA rules compliance, it is understood that any employee who is found in violation of NCAA regulations shall be subject to disciplinary or corrective action as set forth in the provisions of the NCAA enforcement procedures, including suspension without pay or termination of employment for significant or repetitive violations. Great deal of physical work and lifting, possibly over 50 pounds. Work frequent nights/weekends/holidays.
