GENERAL INFORMATION: The Head Strength & Conditioning Coach at Cameron University, an NCAA Division II institution in the Lone Star Conference, is a highly responsible and demanding position. The University has a winning tradition in athletics and is strongly supported by the local community. All members of the Athletic Staff are expected to be team players supporting each other while promoting the mission of the University, supporting the philosophy of the Athletic Department, and assuring the well-being of all student athletes.
Cameron University, Athletics Department is currently seeking a Head Strength and Conditioning Coach whom would be willing and qualified to also fill an Assistant Position in Athletic Training, one of the following sports; Men’s Basketball, Softball, Volleyball, or as a Game Administrator.
POSITION: The Head Strength & Conditioning Coach/Asst. Athletic Training or Sport Coach or Game Administrator will participate in the development of a comprehensive program for the training of student-athletes to maximize their potential for athletic performance and injury prevention. In conjunction with coaches and athletic trainers, organize and design strength, speed, agility, conditioning and flexibility programs for the student-athletes; maintain safety, hygiene, and efficiency of the weight room; create and supervise schedules and team workouts. Display a positive mental attitude, demonstrate enthusiasm, provide positive energy, communicate effectively and build rapport with student-athletes, coaches and staff.

In conjunction with these duties, selected applicant will serve as an Assistant Coach to one of the above-mentioned sports. Job duties include, but are not limited to:
· Support and perform duties as assigned by the Head Coach.
· On-court instruction during practices and games.
· Recruiting student athletes.
· Active involvement in community service activities.
· Assure the academic success of the student athletes
· Conduct fundraising activities.
· Other duties as assigned
This position reports directly to the Athletic Director.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree
Certification through a nationally accredited strength and conditioning certification program. If position paired with Athletic Training, the candidate must be certified through a nationally accredited athletic training organization.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Demonstrated organization and management ability.
Strong work ethic with a team player’s positive attitude.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :
Master’s in Kinesiology or closely related field.
Familiarity with NCAA Division II Rules.
First Aid, CPR and AED certification.
Collegiate experience as a strength and conditioning coach to include technique instruction and program design.
SALARY RANGE: Commensurate with experience.
