Summary

Harris-Stowe State University invites applications for the position of Head Women’s Basketball Coach. This position is responsible for planning, directing, and overseeing all aspects of the Women’s Basketball program, including the recruitment, conditioning, training, and performance of student-athletes, as well as fiscal and operational program management. The Head Women’s Basketball Coach reports directly to the Director of Intercollegiate Athletics.

This is a professional head coaching position that requires leadership in all areas of the program and strict adherence to the policies, rules, and regulations of the NAIA, the American Midwest Conference, and Harris-Stowe State University.

The Head Women’s Basketball Coach is responsible for managing all operational, fiscal, fundraising, and administrative activities associated with the Women’s Basketball program, while also fostering the academic, athletic, and personal development of student-athletes. The position provides direct supervision to a part-time Assistant Coach and is responsible for leading the team in achieving competitive success while promoting a positive and inclusive team culture.

Principal Duties/Responsibilities 

  • Manage all operational, fiscal, fundraising, and administrative activities for the Women’s Basketball program.
  • Provide leadership for the overall planning, organization, and execution of the intercollegiate Women’s Basketball program.
  • Recruit prospective student-athletes and ensure the timely submission of academic records and required materials for admission.
  • Monitor the academic progress, eligibility, and overall status of student-athletes.
  • Foster discipline, accountability, and appropriate conduct among student-athletes in a manner that supports the image and reputation of the athletics program and the University.
  • Plan and conduct coaching sessions, practices, and team activities in accordance with NAIA, American Midwest Conference, and University regulations.
  • Coach student-athletes individually and in team settings, providing instruction in skills development, game techniques, and performance improvement.
