Missouri Valley College, a proud member of the NAIA and Heart of America Conference, invites applications for the position of Head Men’s Basketball Coach. We are seeking a passionate and driven individual to lead our men’s basketball program into a new era, fostering athletic excellence, academic achievement, and character development. The head coach will direct all phases of the men’s basketball program, including recruitment, player development, game preparation, and in-game coaching.

Primary responsibilities

• Identify, recruit, and retain student-athletes who are committed to success on the court and in the classroom.
• Manage program budgets, travel, equipment, and scheduling.
• Maintain compliance with all NAIA, conference, and institutional rules and regulations.
• Promote student-athlete academic progress and personal growth.
• Hire, train, and supervise assistant coaches and support personnel.
• Participate in departmental meetings, fundraising efforts, and community engagement activities.
• Uphold the NAIA Five Core Values: Respect, Integrity, Responsibility, Sportsmanship, and Servant Leadership.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of successful coaching experience at the collegiate level.
• Strong recruiting background with an understanding of NAIA eligibility and compliance.
• Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and organizational skills.
• Commitment to developing student-athletes holistically—athletically, academically, and socially.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel as required.
• CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with NAIA compliance systems (e.g., PlayNAIA).
• Proven fundraising and community outreach experience.
• Familiarity with film breakdown tools and recruiting platforms.
• Demonstrated success in leading competitive teams in a collegiate setting.
