Job Summary

The Department of Athletics at Kutztown University invites applications for the position of Head Men’s Wrestling Coach. Kutztown University is an NCAA Division II member institution which competes in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) in the sport of men’s wrestling. The Head Coach is responsible for all phases of the men’s wrestling program including recruitment of prospective student-athletes, academic success of student-athletes, match preparation and strategy, supervision of assistant coaches, scheduling, organizing camps and clinics in support of Kutztown Athletics, fundraising, adherence to NCAA and PSAC rules and regulations, and general administrative duties. In addition, the Head Coach will be responsible for supporting the philosophy, goals, and mission of the University and its Intercollegiate Athletics program as well as adherence to Departmental, University, Conference and NCAA policies and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Candidates must possess a bachelor's degree and at least three years of coaching experience in the sport of wrestling.
  • Demonstrated ability in skill development, staff supervision, general administrative duties.
  • An understanding of NCAA rules compliance is desired as well as prior successful experience in recruiting qualified student-athletes,
  • Candidates need fiscal management skills, excellent organizational and communications skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Head coaching experience at the NCAA DII level.
  • Knowledge of the PSAC and the regional recruiting footprint.
