●** ** This position is responsible for all aspects of the men’s basketball program, focusing on high-level
training, recruitment of qualified student-athletes, program administration, including scheduling
and fundraising.
IV. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
● Coaching and Instruction: Plan and facilitate practices, develop game strategies and provide mentorship to
improve player skills and team performance
● Recruitment: Actively identify, evaluate and recruit qualified student-athletes who align with the university's
academic, athletic and community standards
● Program Management: Oversee administrative tasks including the management of the program’s
operating budget, the coordination team travel, and the procurement of team equipment
● Student-Athlete Development: Monitor academic progress, support the physical and mental well-being of
athletes with a focus on character development
● Compliance: Adhere to all NCAA DII, GMAC and university guidelines and regulations
● Fundraising and Community Engagement: Organize team fundraising events, engage with alumni and
participate in community service opportunities
● Leadership: Supervise and evaluate assistant coaches, graduate assistants and other program support
staff creating a Christ-centered environment that promotes growth and a positive team culture

● Bachelor’s degree required. Masters preferred
● Previous coaching experience (preferably collegiate) and/or high level competition experience
● Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations
● Valid driver’s license
VII. Working Conditions / Physical Demands
● Work requires early mornings, evenings and weekends
● Involves travel for competitions and recruiting
