Under the direction of an administrator or manager, assists in receiving, issuing, and maintaining physical education equipment and supplies; sets up equipment, athletic and physical education facilities, and athletic fields for events; maintains locker room and related facilities in a secure, clean, orderly, and sanitary condition.
Assists with ordering, organizing, issuing, and monitoring assigned athletic equipment, supplies, apparel, and uniforms; assists coaches in determining uniform and equipment needs. E
Receives orders, inspects for deficiencies, and shortages; notifies Senior P.E. and Athletic Equipment Attendant and/or manager of any shortages in order; marks or engraves newly received equipment and clothing. E
Issues and distributes a variety of equipment, uniforms, and supplies for a large number of classes, practices, and competitive sporting events. E
Collects equipment and uniforms after P.E. and athletic events have concluded; arranges for cleaning and identifies any missing or damaged uniforms and/or equipment. E
Sorts clothing for laundering or cleaning; cleans items as required; checks and stores when returned. E
Assists in setting up athletic fields and physical education facilities for events; ensures equipment is returned and properly stored; assists visiting teams as directed. E
Assists the Senior P.E. and Athletic Equipment Attendant in the performance of duties; assists in ordering supplies; travels with athletic teams as assigned; assists in fitting athletes with proper protective equipment. E
Assists in maintaining physical education equipment and supplies in good repair and in a clean and sanitary condition. E
Issues and receives physical education equipment and supplies; checks equipment and supplies and performs minor repairs and maintenance work as needed; marks equipment; assists in inventory activities as required; picks up equipment from various locations as required. E
Maintains locker room and related facilities in a secure, clean, orderly, and sanitary condition; sets up audio-visual equipment for instructors’ use. E
Maintains athletic and physical education equipment, supplies, and uniforms to ensure student safety and health; inspects clothing and equipment for damage; cleans, repairs, reconditions, or arranges for cleaning, repair, and recondition of equipment; sorts clothing for cleaning and launders washable items; mends and stores unforms; properly fits uniforms and equipment to ensure adequate protection and/or comfort for athletes. E
Maintains order, safety, and security of assigned athletic facilities; sets up equipment for athletic events as assigned. E
Assists in securing and closing assigned facilities; locks and unlocks doors and vending areas in accordance with established schedules. E
Identifies and reports any sanitation, safety, and hazards to appropriate staff; secures area according to District safety policies and procedures. E
Prepares and maintains simple records, files, and reports including records related to the issuance of athletic equipment. E
Operates various tools, equipment, and machines related to work duties including laundry equipment, carts, school vans, forklifts, echo blowers, and small hand tools. E
Trains and provides work direction and guidance to assigned student workers, student assistants, and short-term, temporary staff. E
Performs a variety of clerical and administrative responsibilities in support of the department’s day-to-day activities and/or operations utilizing a variety of communication modalities including but not limited to answers and responds to phone calls, emails, text messages, and chat platforms; opens, screens, and distributes mail and correspondence; photocopies documents and requests duplication services; ensures maintenance and repairs of assigned work areas, facilities, or equipment; enters various requests for services from IT, Facilities, and Maintenance; contacts vendors for equipment service, when needed; follows-up with vendors to ensure satisfactory completion of requests; may perform simple repairs or maintenance to standard office equipment. Any degree from a country other than the United States, including Canada and Great Britain, must be evaluated by an Evaluation Service prior to the closing date. Certification must be attached with copies of transcripts.

Incumbents in the P.E. and Athletic Equipment Attendant classification maintains locker room and related facilities in a secure, clean, orderly, and sanitary condition and assists the Senior P.E. and Athletic Equipment Attendant in the maintenance of equipment and supplies.
The P.E. and Athletic Equipment Attendant is distinguished from the Senior P.E. and Athletic Equipment Attendant in that the latter classification serve in a lead capacity and are responsible for the receipt, issuance, and maintenance of physical education and athletic equipment and supplies. The Senior classification also provides work direction and guidance to the P.E. and Athletic Equipment Attendant based on the day-to-day activities and workflow of the department.

Employees are frequently required to walk and stand and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds; subject to heavy lifting, pushing.
