JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Penn State Altoona, a member of the NCAA Division III and Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference, is seeking a part-time Athletic Trainer. This is a temporary and an as needed position.

The Athletic Trainer provides competition coverage and pregame preparation needs of the student-athletes; provide rehabilitation to injured student-athletes; and participate in annual professional development. Hours of expectation will be mainly evenings and weekends.

Requirements/Qualifications:

• Requires a Bachelors degree or higher (Masters degree preferred) plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Registration or licensures: BOC Certified Athletic Trainer; PA State Licensed Athletic Training; Certified Health Care Provider (CPR/AED)

The successful candidates will have the required education; must be alert for injury or safety issues as they occur; communicate in a professional manner; be able to provide leadership to the coaches to assist them with the proper care of their student-athletes.

BACKGROUND CHECKS/CLEARANCES

This position requires the following clearances in addition to applicable background checks: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check.
