Position Overview
The Per Diem Athletic Trainer in the Athletic Department, reporting to the Head Athletic Trainer, is responsible for providing temporary, on-site coverage for athletics events (in-season practices and contests, non-traditional contests, post-season contests, camps and skills clinics) for all varsity or club teams at the discretion of the Head Athletic Trainer. Duties can include care and prevention of athletic injuries, wellness promotion, examination, assessment, diagnosis, immediate care, emergency care, therapeutic intervention, healthcare organization, administration and professional responsibility for all varsity and club student-athletes and on-site practice/contest coverage.

Key Responsibilities
Provide Athletic Training Services (70%)
o Provide on-site athletic training services for practices and athletic contests hosted by Endicott College.
o Comply with all NCAA, Conference affiliated, athletic department, industry, and institutional guidelines, recommendations, and regulations.
o The employee will be a person of integrity with high ethical standards that adheres to the NATA Code of Ethics and institutional guidelines. Adheres to the state practice act, all NATA and NCAA best practices, and standing orders specified by the team physician.
o Provides counseling and education of student-athletes within the scope of practice.
Evaluate Athletic Injuries and Illnesses (20%)
o Evaluate athletic injuries and illness sustained by a varsity or club student-athlete and refer to other health care professionals as necessary.
o Provide urgent and emergent care as needed by the situation following NATA and NCAA best practices.
o Provide treatment and rehabilitation exercises for athletic injuries or illnesses as needed
Administrative Duties (10%)
o Document all injuries and treatments provided and communicate injuries with full time Athletic Training staff
o Maintain cleanliness and safety of the equipment in the Athletic Training clinic(s)
o Works with the coaching staff and other Athletic Department personnel to ensure the safety of all facilities, environments, and equipment used for intercollegiate athletics

Reports to the Head Athletic Trainer Works under general supervision.

Qualifications and Skills
● Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training
● Valid national certification from the BOC
● Valid CPR/AED Certification
● Valid Massachusetts State licensure through the Board of Allied Health Professionals
● Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with college-age students
● Strong verbal and written communication skills
● Possesses the ability to lift heavy objects, stand for long periods, work in various environmental conditions
● Assist injured individuals on/off playing surfaces
● Coverage can include availability of mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
● Uses sound judgment and discretion when handling confidential matters
Preferred Qualifications N/A
In compliance with Massachusetts pay transparency law, the hourly pay range for this position is $53.00 per hour. Endicott College considers factors such as (but not limited to) job responsibilities, relevant experience, skills, internal equity, and external market data when determining pay. The final hourly rate is determined by the Human Resources Office based on these factors. This range reflects base pay only and does not include benefits or other compensation.
