Reporting to: Director of Athletics with a dotted line to the VP/General Counsel

POSITION SUMMARY: Assumes responsibility for overseeing, developing, and managing all student-athlete services, including; compliance, athletics academic advising, student-athlete development, student-athlete support, athletic training, and strength & conditioning. Provide Director of Athletics with strategic advice and guidance related to the Athletic Department’s direction and strategic plan. Serve as NCAA eligibility and certification officer, and leads academic affairs and the registrar to ensure the accurate and timely eligibility certification of all student-athletes. Responsible for ensuring the fulfillment of the NCAA Transformation Committee’s requirements, and for submitting all reports related to the NCAA infractions case during the two-year probation. Provides sport supervision for selected NCAA sports. Oversee Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). Serve as primary liaison to financial aid, undergraduate admissions, transfer admissions, International office, registrar, bursar, ResLife, and graduate admissions. Leads the development, implementation, and maintenance of a comprehensive NCAA Division I, MAAC, and institutional compliance program. Supports the development, implementation, and monitoring of policies and processes related to the NCAA, MAAC, as well as Manhattan College rules and regulations. Ensure timely and efficient compliance office activities as well as accountability and institutional control. Responsible for working with the financial aid office to ensure that student-athlete athletic awards are accurate, and all teams remain within NCAA and Manhattan College athletic aid limits.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintains responsibility and oversight of athletics NCAA compliance, student-athlete development, athletics academic advising, student-athlete support, athletic training, and strength & conditioning.
• Serve as NCAA eligibility and certification officer. Leads athletic academic advising and the registrar to ensure the accurate and timely eligibility certification of all student-athletes.
• Ensures student-athlete development programming includes mental health, wellness, career preparation, life after sports, leadership, and financial literacy.
• Ensure the Athletic Department’s fulfillment of the NCAA Transformation Committee Holistic Model requirements, standards, and expectations.
• Implements and delivers compliance-related activities, prioritizing student-athlete academic services and support, reporting efficiencies as well as monitoring and maintaining accurate compliance data.
• Oversees the timely production of all interpretations of NCAA rules and regulations to coaches, staff, administrators, student-athletes and the Manhattan College community to support the institution’s compliance efforts.

• Manages required work of the institutional compliance software system (ARMS), providing training to coaches, staff and administrators in an effort to ensure that employees are up-to-date on operating the systems and properly monitoring functional usage to review official/unofficial visits, CARA, complimentary tickets, recruiting activity, playing and practice logs, NLIs, declaration of playing seasons, and roster management.

• Leads in the review and evaluation of initial and continuing academic eligibility for student-athletes. Identifies irregularities, inconsistencies and potential NCAA violations and reports and/or addresses compliance infractions with compliance staff as necessary and/or appropriate.

• Leads the preparation and review of academic eligibility documents and financial aid lists for all sports teams for certification purposes.

• Provides sport supervision for selected NCAA sports.

• Oversee, guide, and mentor Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).

• Serve as primary liaison to, and work collaboratively with, financial aid, undergraduate admissions, transfer admissions, International office, registrar, bursar, ResLife, and graduate admissions.

• Provides strategy and counsel for decisions involving, but not limited to, personnel changes; employee relations; policy development, implementation, revision; and regulatory compliance.

• Provides supervision, direction, and leadership to the areas of human resources, academic support, and policy management.

Salary: $90, 000 - $105,000
