The Sports Information Assistant serves as an institutional representative for all athletic activities and provides coverage of 16 NAIA varsity sports. This role assists the Sports Information Director in promoting the department and helping manage and maintain statistics, records, and other related materials.

Duties and Responsibilities
This position is primarily responsible to:
Testify to personal experience of salvation in Jesus Christ, affirm belief in the University’s Statement of Faith, abide by and practice our Life Together Covenant, and both personally agree with and support the Foundational Documents of Taylor University.
Maintain game-day coverage for assigned Taylor University varsity sports including statistical reports, play by play information, photographs and videos.
Report statistical reports for individual athletes and teams, game recaps, and other promotional materials to the general public and other organizations such as the Crossroads League and the NAIA.
Assist with the production of game programs, news releases, updates, schedules, rosters, pre-event and post-event information.

Manage and maintain historical records and archive for all intercollegiate athletic programs.
Coordinate and assist with game-day operations.
Assist with managing and maintaining the athletic department’s website and social media accounts.
Other duties as assigned.
Typical Qualifications
Education and Experience
High school diploma or GED
Bachelor’s degree in communications, sports management, or a related field, preferred
Skills and Competencies
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Knowledge of social media marketing and ability to think creatively.
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Familiarity with sports statistics software.
Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures.
