Job Description:
Job Summary
The Sports Information Assistant will support the daily operations of the Sports Information Department and serve in a key supervisory role for the Sea Gull Sports Network. This position is responsible for scheduling and assigning in-game student staff and broadcast personnel for over 150 live athletic events hosted at Salisbury University.
The incumbent will serve as the primary contact for the department’s social media accounts, graphic design, and other external communications initiatives. They will oversee the collection and reporting of statistical data for their assigned sports and will be responsible for submitting weekly and annual award nominations at the conference and national levels for student-athletes and coaches.
This role requires close collaboration with coaches, administrators, and game day personnel to ensure well-organized and efficient event operations. Additional essential in-game responsibilities include, but are not limited to: clock operations, public address announcing, broadcast play-by-play, live social media updates, score reporting, photography, and videography.
The Sports Information Assistant will also manage the operation and inventory of department technology and equipment.
Authority and Accountability
This position reports to the Assistant Athletics Director for Communication and Sports Information.
Required/Minimum Qualifications
1-3 years, some specialized skills. Knowledge of StatCrew, NCAA LiveStats, other relevant statistics-keeping software. Knowledge of specialized equipment required for live broadcasts. Experience with Daktronics scoreboards and videoboards and other related technology.
Preferred Qualifications
2-3 years of experience in sports information or athletic communications. Relevant experience in technology related to statistics and network/broadcasting of sporting events.
Additional Job Information:
The position is a Contingent II, full-time, exempt position.
