SPORTS INFORMATION-ASSISTANT DIRECTOR - (T227150)

Description

Assists the Sports Information Director in promotion and publicity of UAB s intercollegiate sports programs. Designs, writes and produces media guides, news releases and other printed material as assigned by the Sports Information Director. Coordinates media events. Compiles statistics; reports statistics and records each sport to appropriate conference. Nominates athletes for conference and regional honors. Supervises event operations for home events; assists with other special events when necessary. Assists with maintenance of the UAB athletics web site as well as photography archives. May have limited supervisory responsibilities for student assistants. Adheres to all institution, conference and National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) rules and regulations. Reports all known NCAA violations in accordance with institutional, conference and NCAA policies and guidelines.

Salary Range: $43,890 - $47,500

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism or a related field and one (1) year of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
