Brewton-Parker College has an immediate opening for a Sports Information Director (SID). The SID will be responsible for leading the athletic department’s communication efforts and working to actively promote Brewton-Parker College’s teams, coaches, and student-athletes.

Leading the athletic department’s communication efforts

• On gamedays, the SID will be in charge of official stats, scoreboard operator, PA announcer, music, printed materials (scripts, roster sheets, game programs, etc.), promoting the game and the video streaming
• Have an active role in the statistics for each team, whether doing it yourself or training students to do it accurately-

1. Ensure accurate and updated records are kept for all sports

• Maintain the department’s web site with accurate, updated and timely information
• Develop and execute a strategic plan for the department’s social media accounts (at least Instagram, Twitter and Facebook)

• Make sure student-athletes and coaches are nominated for as many awards as possible (Conference and NAIA Players of the Week, Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes, SSAC Scholar-Athlete Teams, SSAC Scholar-Athletes of the Year, CoSIDA Academic All-Americans, Numerous other SSAC and NAIA end-of-year awards, etc.)
• Coordinate the department’s video efforts

1. -Oversee live streaming of home events
2. Continue to find ways to incorporate other videos (highlights, interviews, features, etc.)

• Arrange to have photos (head shots, team photos and action shots) taken throughout the year for use on the web site and social media, and to be able to answer requests from NAIA and conference office

Work to actively promote teams, coaches and student-athletes

• Build relationships and work with news media, the conference office and NAIA to tell the stories of your student-athletes
• Coordinate with other sports information directors to ensure they have accurate and timely information needed to host your teams
• Work with coaches to ensure the needs of their team are met and everyone is on the same page
• Find and train student workers to provide the number of people needed to promote the student-athletes

The successful applicant will also sign a “Lifestyle Standard Agreement”

QUALIFICATIONS:

Qualified candidates must have at least a Bachelor’s degree. The successful candidate will have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and the ability to successfully disciple student athletes. The candidate should also possess strong organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks and work within a budget, excellent written and oral skills, knowledge of computer applications, fundraising, event planning, camps and financial management, the ability to work weekends, evenings, including travel, and can demonstrate commitment to or experience working with diverse populations. Must be able to lift and move equipment, maintain a valid driver’s license, and transport the team as needed.
