Job Summary

Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Staff Accountant performs various accounting duties to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the financial and accounting activities at the Air Force Academy Athletic Corporation.   The primary responsibility of this position are the accurate and timely recording of revenues related to operations and   reconciling all bank accounts on a daily basis. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities**  **

• Prepare journal entries to ensure a timely and accurate recording of operational revenues including ticket sales, sponsorships, donations and contractual revenues
• Monitor and manage accounts receivable to include managing collections on past due accounts
• Reconcile all operating bank accounts
• Prepare monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts
• Assist in the management of AFAAC credit card program
• Comply with company policies and procedures and make recommendations and participate in continuous improvement
• Motivated to work in a team environment

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting required
• Preferred 1-2 years of relevant work experience
• Must have a general understanding of generally accepted accounting principles, specifically related to revenue recognition
• Must have strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel
• Experience with Sage Intacct or other Sage products preferred but not required
• Must be personable, a self-starter, organized, and able to manage workload during busy periods
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. and successfully pass a background check.
