Job Description:

_ To be eligible to apply for this position, you must be a current student enrolled at McDaniel College, with work study as part of your Financial Aid package. _

Position: Student Trainer           

Revision Dates:   09/23

Reports to: Ian McQuaid

Department:    Athletics

Salary Grade: Tier 1

FSLA Status: Non-exempt 

Location of Position: Athletic Training Room (Gill Athletic Center), McDaniel College, 2 College Hill, Westminster, MD 21157 

Duration of Appointment:  8/7/2024-5/21/2025

Schedule:  Schedule is at discretion of supervisor 

Evaluation Procedures:  Student workers are evaluated on a continuing basis 

Scope: Assist Athletic Trainers 

Responsibilities:  

• Preparing water for practices
• Filing
• Restocking tables and supplies
• Pre-practice preparation of blisters and taping once cleared by a staff athletic trainer.  

 

Requirements:

Qualifications:  

• Current McDaniel undergraduate student with work study 
• Must be CPR/AED and First Aid Certified 
• Hold a Valid Driver's License to be able to Operate the Gator

Physical Characteristics: 

• This job requires the ability to lift 40-80 lbs multiple times during the setup of practice water stations. 
• Standing for extended periods of time (approx.. 2-3 hours) 
• Student worker will assist athletic trainer in demonstrating rehabilitation exercises.   
• Countless repetitions of sitting then standing while filing.
