Job Description:

_ To be eligible to apply for this position, you must be a current student enrolled at McDaniel College. This position is open to both work study and campus employment students. _

Position:  Varsity Athletics Team Manager, Women's Softball          

Revision Dates:   01/2025

Reports to:  Head Athletic Equipment Manager, Assistant Softball Coach, and Head Softball Coach  

Department:  Athletics   

Salary Grade:   Maryland Minimum Wage

FSLA Status:  Non-exempt 

Location of Position:  Gill Center, 2 College Hill, McDaniel College, Westminster, MD, 21157 

Duration of Appointment:  8/7/2024-5/21/2025  

Schedule:  Schedule is at discretion of supervisor 

Evaluation**  Procedures: **Student workers are evaluated on a continuing basis  

Scope:  Provide support for assigned Varsity team during practices, games and events. 

Responsibilities:  

• Attend practice and assist coaches with any items necessary
• Assist with equipment hand out 
• Travel to away contests 
• Keep charts during games 
• Assist with Social Medias

Schedule:  

• 20 hours max a week, must have availability from 4-7 or 8-11 depending on schedule, must be available on weekends 
• Must be able to attend away contests 

Requirements:

Qualifications:   

• Current student at McDaniel with work study 
• Highly organized and detail oriented 
• Knowledge of the rules of assigned sport  
• Discretion and reliability in sensitive and confidential matters are vital 

Physical Characteristics: 

This position requires some physical activity.  This position does have some lifting involved but not more than 30 pounds at a time. The setting of the job is in the gymnasium and outside on the field.
