Job Description

Missouri Valley College’s track program seeks a dedicated and knowledgeable individual to serve as the Throws Coach for its NAIA Track and Field program. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in coaching and/or competing in collegiate-level throwing events, including shot put, discus, hammer, and javelin. This coach will play a vital role in the development of student-athletes, contributing to the competitive success of the program while supporting the holistic mission of the college.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Coach and develop student-athletes in all throwing disciplines (shot put, discus, hammer, javelin).
  • Assist with practice planning, implementation, and supervision.
  • Conduct individual and small-group training sessions focused on technical development.
  • Monitor academic progress and character development of student-athletes.
  • Support recruiting efforts through evaluation, communication, and campus visits.
  • Ensure compliance with NAIA, conference, and institutional policies and procedures.
  • Travel with the team to competitions and assist with meet-day preparation and management.
  • Maintain and inventory throwing equipment.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and team-oriented environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Coach or Athletic Director.
