Missouri Valley College’s track program seeks a dedicated and knowledgeable individual to serve as the Throws Coach for its NAIA Track and Field program. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in coaching and/or competing in collegiate-level throwing events, including shot put, discus, hammer, and javelin. This coach will play a vital role in the development of student-athletes, contributing to the competitive success of the program while supporting the holistic mission of the college.
Primary Responsibilities
Coach and develop student-athletes in all throwing disciplines (shot put, discus, hammer, javelin).
Assist with practice planning, implementation, and supervision.
Conduct individual and small-group training sessions focused on technical development.
Monitor academic progress and character development of student-athletes.
Support recruiting efforts through evaluation, communication, and campus visits.
Ensure compliance with NAIA, conference, and institutional policies and procedures.
Travel with the team to competitions and assist with meet-day preparation and management.
Maintain and inventory throwing equipment.
Foster a positive, inclusive, and team-oriented environment.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Coach or Athletic Director.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree.
Collegiate-level experience as a coach or athlete in throwing events.
Strong understanding of throwing technique and training principles.
Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
A commitment to the academic and athletic success of student-athletes.
CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain
Knowledge of NAIA rules and eligibility standards.
