As Head Coach, you’ll do more than run practices—you’ll shape the future of shooting sports at Blackburn. You’ll recruit talented student-athletes, instill a culture of safety, integrity, and discipline, and provide the mentorship and leadership that help athletes succeed. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the Shooting Sports Program with energy, vision, and a focus on safety and student development.
• Design and deliver effective training sessions and competition strategies.
• Recruit and mentor student-athletes who embody both academic and athletic excellence.
• Manage program operations including scheduling, budget oversight, and compliance with college, conference, and regulatory standards.
• Build strong relationships with alumni, donors, and the local community to generate excitement and support.
• Grow the visibility of the program through outreach, clinics, fundraising, and social media.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Experience as a competitor or coach in shooting sports (trap, sporting clays, or related disciplines). Coaching experience at the high school, club, or collegiate level preferred.
• Strong knowledge of firearm safety and competition rules.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and travel for competitions and recruiting.

This salary range for this position is $45,000 – $50,000
