Position Title: Volunteer Assistant Coach: Men's Bowling

Reports to: Men's Bowling Head Coaches, Athletic Director, and Director of Club Sports

Supervises: Students

Primary Function: The Volunteer Assistant Bowling Coach will assist in the coaching and development of the Saint Vincent College Men's Bowling Team. This role focuses on supporting the head coach in daily operations, skill development, and fostering a positive team culture. The assistant coach will aid in practice planning, game-day operations, and recruitment efforts, all while promoting the college's mission and values.

Required Qualifications:

• Experience in bowling, either as a player, coach, or in a related role.
• Strong understanding of bowling fundamentals, strategy, and player development.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
• Commitment to the academic and athletic success of students.

Education: Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.

Experience: Bowling experience, either playing, coaching, or assisting in a coaching capacity.

Essential Duties:

• Coaching and Training: Assist the head coach in planning and conducting team practices, focusing on skill development, strategy, and conditioning. Provide support during competitions by helping with tactical adjustments and player management.
• Player Development: Work with individual players to improve their technical skills and understanding of the game. Offer feedback and guidance to help them succeed both on and off the lanes.
• Recruitment Support: Assist in the recruitment of prospective students by participating in scouting, campus visits, and communication with recruits. Collaborate with the head coach and other staff to identify potential players, specifically the director of club sports.
• Team Culture and Leadership: Promote a positive and inclusive team environment by fostering teamwork, sportsmanship, and respect among players. Help organize team-building activities to enhance cohesion.
• Competition Day Assistance: Support game day operations, including setting up equipment, managing substitutions, and ensuring an organized and efficient competition day experience.
• Compliance and Safety: Ensure that all team activities adhere to the college, conference, and national governing body regulations. Prioritize the safety and well-being of students during practices and competitions.

Time Commitment: This is a volunteer position. Commitment is flexible but typically includes attending practices, competitions, and occasional team events throughout the season.
