The Wide Receivers Coach is responsible for developing and coaching wide receivers, enhancing their skills, and contributing to the overall offensive strategy of the team. This position involves teaching fundamental techniques, reviewing player performance, creating training plans, and working closely with other coaches and staff to ensure the wide receiver group performs at the highest level. This role reports directly to the Head Football Coach.
Essential Functions:
Conduct individual and group coaching sessions to improve the skills and performance of wide receivers.
Teach proper techniques, including route running, blocking, hand-eye coordination, and ball tracking.
Develop and implement practice drills and strategies to enhance the receivers’ abilities.
Analyze and break down film of opponents to identify tendencies, weaknesses, and strategies.
Work with the offensive coordinator and head coach to plan and execute offensive plays that highlight the wide receivers’ strengths.
Assist with the recruitment of wide receiver prospects, evaluating talent and potential fit for the team.
Collaborate with the recruiting staff to identify and scout potential recruits at the high school, college, or other appropriate levels.
Collaborate with other position coaches, including quarterbacks and running backs, to develop and implement team-wide offensive strategies.
Foster a positive and disciplined atmosphere, ensuring wide receivers remain motivated, focused, and committed to their development.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Experience coaching at a competitive level, with a proven track record of developing high-performing wide receivers.
Familiarity with modern training techniques, video analysis tools, and other resources to enhance player development.
Proven experience as a wide receivers coach or similar role, preferably at the collegiate or professional level.
Strong knowledge of offensive schemes and play calling strategies.
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Ability to motivate and inspire athletes to reach their full potential.
Strong understanding of the physical and mental demands of playing wide receiver.
Moderate physical activity. Requires handling of average-weight objects up to fifty (50) pounds or standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree (preferred, typically in Sports Management, Physical Education, or a related field).
Previous coaching experience as a wide receivers coach or at a comparable level (high school, college, or professional).
Experience playing as a wide receiver at a competitive level is highly preferred.
Flexibility to work outside of normal business hours.
