JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for providing coaching expertise, leadership, management and
administration of all aspects to a competitive program resulting in a positive and beneficial
intercollegiate experience for student-athletes.
MAJOR DUTIES
Provide leadership, organization and supervision for all practices and contests. implement and maintain standards of performance consistent with departmental, academic, and athletic expectations.
Organize and implement a successful recruiting program to attract outstanding student-athletes to attend Northeastern State University.
Conduct all aspects of the program within the rules, regulations, and procedures of the intercollegiate athletics department policy manual and the University.
Attend and participate in department and staff meetings and events.
Manage the program with the parameters of a fundraised budget.
Schedule all intercollegiate contests and team travel in accordance with NSU Travel Policies.
Review student-athlete eligibility requirements to ensure full compliance with governing rules and regulations.
Provide financial aid recommendations for both prospective and enrolled student-athletes .
Maintain a positive and constructive working relationship with University and departmental support staff to ensure an efficient and effective program and department.

Develop and participate in fund-raising activities for the program in conjunction with athletic advancement through the All N Club.
Represent the University at professional meetings, alumni gatherings, campus activities and civic affairs.
Encourage and administer an effective outreach program with student-athletes that provide benefits to the on and off-campus community.
Maintain relationships with parents, alumni, friends of the program, and others toward the positive image and promotion of the program
Be knowledgeable of and fully comply with all appropriate rules and regulations of Northeastern State University
Prepare, record and retain documentation as required
Adhere to the mission statement and guiding principles of the Department and promote commitment to the mission
Perform other duties as assigned by the direct sport report and the Director of Athletics
KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED BY THE POSITION
Experience recruiting and retaining a diverse group of successful student-athletes
Coaching experience at the collegiate or high school level
Strong commitment to student-athlete academic achievements and character development
Effective communication skills, verbal and written
Ability to work effectively and productively within a team-based approach
Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in a high demand/high stress profession
Ability to respond professionally and competently
Ability to contribute to a positive work environment
Ability to set challenging goals and seek continuous improvement
Ability to demonstrate leadership characteristics within athletics and throughout the university
Computer and social media technology competency
Must have a valid driver’s license or the ability to obtain a driver’s license or access to a licensed
Demonstrated knowledge of, and relevant ability with, culturally diverse communities among potential target and constituent populations.

Guidelines include department and university policies and procedures. These guidelines are
generally clear and specific, but may require some interpretation in application.
CONTACTS
Contacts are typically with co-workers, other college personnel, students, faculty,
members of the general public and athletic trainers.
Contacts are typically to provide services, to give or exchange information, or to resolve
problems.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work is typically performed while sitting at a desk or while intermittently sitting, standing, or stooping. The employee occasionally lifts light objects.
The work is typically performed in an office and outdoors, occasionally in cold or inclement weather.
SUPERVISORY AND MANAEMENT RESPONSIBILITY
This position has direct supervision over student-athletes.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of two years previous experience in coaching, choreography and recruiting
required, preferably in an intercollegiate program.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Broad-based experience preferred
Annual salary $5,288.00 with excellent benefits, including generous leave time.
