KANSAS CITY, Mo. (Feb. 1, 2026) – One of the winningest coaches in NCAA history, Mark Turgeon has been named the head coach of Kansas City men's basketball heading into the 2026-27 season, UMKC Vice Chancellor/Director of Athletics Dr. Brandon Martin announced on Sunday. Turgeon is the program's ninth head coach since elevating to Division I in 1987-88.
